Hi, this should be simply and straight forward but I'm having difficulty.

I simply want to use the feature of sending or forwarding of voicemail messages on the embedded voicemail of the 3300

when I listen to the message and then dial 4 for forward/send. I enter the extension number, but after the 3rd digit the voicemail says invalid mailbox nr.

I have confirmed the mailbox that I'm trying to forward to exists and also confirmed it's extension and mailbox nr are what I'm entering.

I then created a phantom extension with a mailbox. I tried to forward/send voicemail this mailbox and it worked.

The difference is that the mailbox all start with a 0. The mailbox that worked started with a 3.

The short answer to this is probably that you can't use a mailbox nr starting with a 0. can anyone confirm or not confirm that this is the case.

Thanks,

On default you'll probably find that the operator's mailbox is 0, and i'm not 100% sure but i don't think you can delete this mailbox.

What S/W version are you using? Competitor systems support leading-digit-zero (as well as leading-digit-nine) extensions, though IMO anyone who assigns either should be beaten with a bullwhip.

Again, IMO, even having to go to 5-digit extensions would be preferable to fighting the battle of 0 and/or 9. Fortunately brighter minds prevailed when it came to opening up the 9xxx count, but under duress we did open up the 0xxx count for several hundred exts and have long since regretted it.

But give 'em time. Mitel will have to support leading digit 0 exts and mailboxes in EMEM if only to remain competitive. I think their NuPoint product does already
