You post contains to little information (TLI). From where are you trying to create the rule? is it a server side or client side rule? What error, if any, do you get? ...
I get no errors, and tried to do this using a server side and a client side rule. All other mail is forwarded just fine, it just the e-mail from the System Administrator that are not.
Postmaster messages are generated by the system admin account, to have a copy of the NDR messages sent to an alternative address do the following:
Right click smtp virtual server>properties>messages and enter the address you want a copy sent to. Have you already done this, and it is not working??
Can you expand on what you are trying to achieve. When someone e-mails a non-existant user @yourdomain an NDR is generated and sent to the sender from postmaster@yourdomain (unless you've turned off NDR's to the internet, which in my personal opinion is a good idea). What do you mean when sending e-mail to other companies (such as AOL)? I'm a bit confused, could you explain exactly what you are trying to achieve.
We have two domains that are not trusted, one domain is a production domain and one is a user domain, users do not have access to the e-mail server in the production domain.
We have forms that customers can fill out to have tasks done for them, but if they accidently enter the wrong e-mail address then when our server tries to send them an acknowledgement e-mail a message is generated saying that that e-mail address can not be found. We would like to forward these messages to a group of people in one department, because they are time sensitive. I have set up forwarding on the server side and the client side and both forward every e-mail except the ones generated by the System Administrator.
I'm sorry for not getting back to you sooner. Let me see if I've understood. A customer fills in a form and puts their e-mail address in incorrectly, the server sends an acknowledgement to the incorrect e-mail address, and the account receives an NDR from the customers exchange server. The NDR isn't being generated by your system. Does the exchange account that tried sending an acknowledgement to the incorrect e-mail address receive a non-delivery report from the customers isp/exchange server? If so can you not setup a client side rule?
Again, my apologies for the late reply
