Is there any way to get a call to a particular extension to forward to an external number either with the system or with an option in the v.m. system? This is a Partner ACS 6 with Partner mail VS. Any response would be appreciated. Thanks!

remote call forwarding

feature 11

you have to enable it through system programing #322

for explcit instructions click on the FAQ go to the link for avaya and you can download a PDF manual

Allow the extension to have Remote Call forwarding through system programming, #322-XX-1

Program the remote number into one of the extension's personal speed dial locations (80 through 99), Feature 00, Feature XX, Telephone Number, Feature 00

Add a Forward button to the extension, Feature 00, Press a Black Button with a Light, Feature 11-XX-99, Feature 00

Press the Forward button, the light comes on. Any calls transferred to the extension will cause the system to pick any of the lines that are available to that extension, dial the number in the speed dial location, and then conference the lines together.

Press the button again, the light will go off, and calls will go to the extension again as normal.

Thanks Skip and Touch Tone for your prompt responses. I'm kind of a newbie to the Partner. (normally work on Definity) I'll give it a try and let you know how it turns out.

Pardon me, but is this the same sequence of programming to do the same with a Partner II r4 system. I am also trying to transfer off-net using the System Speed dials.

Thanks in advance.

Partner II does not have the remote call forward feature. The best you can do is get "Centrex" lines with the DID/DOD feature, then you flash, dial the outside number, and hang up after the first ring to transfer. You can program it as a speed dial number as "flash (Hold), pause (Speaker), telephone number". If you want to transfer from the auto attendant, you must have VS mail R5 or later, or Partner Mail R3, or any version of Partner Messaging. The transfer must come from an Auto Attendant Selector Code, once the call gets to an extension or its mailbox, it's too late to transfer.
