Im not sure if this is possible but can you automatically dump the voicemails from one account to another? just to clarify im working on the octel 250. So because we are using a remote site for voice over IP the numbers we are using are local and not that of the site. We have the numbers call forwarded to the new local numbers but the voice message go into the old numbers and not the new ones.
I tried just lighting the lamps using the alias box but it gives me the message already in use.

you need to change the ext number in the mailbox profile as that is what it uses to turn on the light

Also what type of integration are you using?

I am trying to find a way to forward messages received by a mailbox to a distribution list. If anyone would be able to help I would appreciate it.

I turned on message forwarding on the class of service, assigned that class of service to the mailbox that will be doing the forwarding and assigned the node and mailbox for the destination. When I go into that mailbox it says it is set up for forwarding but when I try to send a message to it, the people in the distribution list don't get the message.

The document says you can't forward to a type 6 mailbox (PDL)but I am trying anyways.

If anyone would know how or if this can be done let me know.

Thanks,

Chris

It can not be done. The dist list type 6 mailbox will not under any circumstance receive a message from outside of the system. It will only take t if it is sent from a native mailbox that is allowed to send to dist lists

I have been trying this for years and it can't be done.

What is the goal you are trying to achieve ? You may be able to do it some other way

I have a Cisco Unity cluster and I have Unity Bridge as well. On the old VM there is still about 1500 users or so and they all are in a Distribution List. Now I know that Octel nor Unity will allow you to send a message to an PDL from an external source so what I was trying to do is send the message to an Octel mailbox that has the forwarding option to send to the Octel distribution list. The only other option is to create a mailbox on the Octel box that the user will have to log into to send to that distribution list.

I actually have this working on Unity, as I created all the users as bridge subscribers and add them to a Unity distribution list. The problem with that is that when someone sends a message to that distribution list it takes 8 hours to complete, because there are 1283 subscribers it is sending to.

If I can send the message to one Octel mailbox and have that mailbox send to the Octel distribution list then it would take no more than the Bridge calling the Octel box and playing the DTMF and playing the voice. So if there is 4 minutes of voice in the message to be sent, add maybe a minutes and the message is now in Octel and Octel will finish forwarded it off to the 1200 and some subscribers inside its distribution list.
