Forwarding mail to outside smtp address

Hello
I have a question how to enable forward emails to outside smtp address. If a create a rule in outlook to forward all emails to address stored in my personal addrerss book it doesn`t work please help how to do this.I have a exchange version 5.5 SP4.

I would set an alternate recipient on the mailbox properties.
