Hello,
Is there a way to forward an inactive DN to a different extension.
We have an DN that is no longer in service, and when you dial that extension it say "Not in service" and gives a busy signal.
What I need to do is to forward it to a different extension so that who ever calls that ext. does not get a busy signal.
Any way to do that? Ive already setup forwarding on the DN, but since its not in service the forwarding is not working.

Assign that dn that is now inactive, as an answer dn button on any physical phone, it will follow.

Thanks, can you be a bit more specific though...this whole phone thing has been kind of just thrown at me and Im still trying to figure out what is what...

Is it a bcm prior to v4.0 or a bcm50? You need to go into programming(telset or thru unified manager or element manager) and under "active dn's" your going to select the physical phone you want to ring when someone dials the old dn that has no phone on it.(the no longer existing phone) then under line assignment you will see "answer dn's" this will be the "virtual" extension. Program it as "appear & ring" and it will now show up on top of the last intercom button on your physical phone.

Thank you kind sir, that worked beautifully.
