Forwarding Exchange Mail to External SMTP Email Addresses 1

I've got a client who used to connect to an Exchange server in another location to receive her email. She received both internal "Exchange" email and external "Internet" email at that account. She has now purchased her own domain and I would like all her Exchange mail forwarded on to her SMTP server at her new domain. What do I need to tell the administrators of the Exchange server to do in order to accomplish this?

I have spoken to them twice about this and they have not been receptive. I'm hoping if I contact them with the exact steps they need to take to do this they would perhaps be quicker about getting it done. They have a bad track record there for putting stuff like this at the bottom of their todo list.

Not positive but I believe that they are running Exchange 5.5 or 5.0.

Thanks for any help.

Matt

Create a custom recipient with her new e-mail address. Then on her directory item (mailbox) setup alternate recipent to the custom recipient. If you still want her to get mail in the mailbox check the box to deliver to both.
