Hi,

I've built a new email server using RedHat 7.0. It works great. I want to give my 350 users the ability to forward their mail from a cranky old email server running Slackware 4.0, but I can't get .forward to work. I have no clue what I am doing wrong. It should work, I mean .foward works fine on my Linux server I built, plus on a Solaris box I have; so I am absolutely clueless why I can't get it to work with Slackware. Also, from what I know about Slackware-Linux, it is supported.

Any one know Slackware and why creating a .forward file, with the forwarding email address does not work.

Thanks

Hi, Bill.

What errors are you getting in your maillogs?
I had a problem like this when I recompiled my
.cf and allowed only strict relaying for domain hosts.

Maybe thats it??

Good Luck.

u could also try to forward mail using the aliases file.. i think it is /etc/mail/aliases.. or something like that... u can affix the e-mail address to forward to then rebuild the aliases database file.. then restart Sendmail.. good luck...
