I have an option 11c and I have two fax lines set up. However one line has a bad fax and I would like that line to forward to other fax line at all times until fax is fixed.
How do I set up call forward on an analog line? Can I do it in the programming or does it have to be done physically and manually? Please help, thanks!

Take the DN from the broken fax, out it, and build a MAXP 1 ACD in LD 23, and set the NCFW prompt to the working fax DN. Works like a champ.

On the Fax that is broken,
chg CLS HTA
FTR FDN xxxx DN of working Fax
Then disable the TN of the bad fax and calls will goto the working fax.

On the broken fax the extension has a cls of hta already, and I changed ftr fdn XXX dn of working fax, but this just ended up frwarding calls to operator.
I am not sure in how to disable the TN or what you mean by it, because I did the rest of the steps with excetion of disabling TN.
As for ACD, i do not have that for my switch. We do not use ACD.

You should have some ACD availble.
Go to LD 23
REQ new

TYPE acd

CUST 0

ACDN (Broken Fax DN)

See if it lets you get this far

Hey Eddie

I did what you told me to and I got an error message sch0707, and I think I got this because i have not outed the dn. If I out the dn, what would the next steps be, I am not sure exactly what you instructed will do, but if it works I would love to try it.
I think if I out I might be able to move forward with it. What else do I have to do?

Thats telling you that your DN is conflicting. What you need to do is out the TN of the bad fax. That will free up the DN, and you can then enter that without getting the SCH code. Make sense? Might want to print the TN of teh bad fax before you out it, so you know how to rebuild it when you get the machine fixed.

If you just change the DN to something else you won't have to out the TN and then rebuild it later when you get the fax fixed.

Your making this more difficult then it needs to be.

Good point ACE. Do a LUDN in LD 20, and replace the DN of the bad fax with an available DN, and build the new ACD with the bad fax number.

Ok I am not getting error messages any more, what do I now that I have entered the dn that does not work? Is there a prt where I type in the extension of the working dn on this acd, and once I add the new acd am i finished?

I created the acd as instructed and I set the MAXP to 1 and I set the NCFW to the working fax dn. Everything else I left it as default. I tested it by calling the DN and it seems to be working.
Unfortunately I can not send a fax to test it as the location is in Germany, and there is nobody working right now. I called it and I got the fax tone so I am assuming it is good. I will confirm on Monday though. Let me know if I should have done anything else.
I really appreciate all the help. Thank you so much.

Simply, by assigning the feature in LD 10, this requires user to activate or deactivate.

FTR CFD 4

To Forward, you just dial in the SPRE Feature Code, CFD Feature code and the extension at the Fax line. Some Faxes have a handset/dialpad, or you just plug an analog set in.

example 8083 XXXX

80=SPRE
83=CFWD
XXXX= 4 Digits.

Temporarily, with no user intervention I'd have just made a IDC change to the other fax extension.
