Forwarded messages arrive as attachments?

When an AOL user forwards a message to my client, the forwarded message always arrives as an attachment.

I wouldn't be too concerned about this, but a lot of this clients e-mail is involved, and its a pain to open an attachment just to see what the message is about!

Client uses Outlook 2002 (like many of my other clients who don't seem to experience this).

Anyone have any ideas?

This is an AOL thing, not really your client's problem. You might also see the same thing from Yahoo mail. There's really nothing that you can do to fix this (other than get the sender to get rid of AOL). Because the sender probably won't be too receptive to that, you could also try to get the sender to use a real mail client. See Get AOL mail with normal client software thread605-880049

I suspected that was the issue, but my client refused to accept that it was an AOL thing. After all, his wife uses AOL! etc. etc. etc.
