Forwarded Caller ID Only Shows Primary Number

Hello...

I have another question about the forwarded caller ID. For those number we dial out, it shows the real number of that extension (DID number, eg. 388). However, if I forwarded that extension to outside (eg. mobile), it only shows the DID level number (eg. 300). Anyone knows how to fix this problem?

Not sure if there is a definity specific answer to this, but the first place I would look is the carrier that the call is forwarding out on. My CLEC here (for my PRI trunks) won't allow any Calling Party Number to be sent that does not belong to me. So they substitute my 'main' number for all forwaded calls.

When somebody from PSTN (A number) calls your extension (B number) which is forwarded to some PSTN number (C number) definity will always send, for Calling party A and for Called party C number. As jgideon said, if your carrier allows that Calling party number can be different then numbers from your DID range you will see on your e.g. cell phone A number. In Europe, many carriers don't allow sending presentation number which does not belong to DID range. But, there is some special application (SA8052 ISDN Redirecting Number) which adds Redirecting Number IE field in SETUP message. In that case Redirecting number will be the number form your DID range (local extension that made CF). If your carrier supports this than you will see on your e.g. cell phone who is calling you instead of first number from your DID range. The licence for this application cost few K$!
