We are eliminating an existing fax machine and want to forward any incoming faxes that use the old number to another fax/500 dn. What is the best way to change handle this in the Nortel Meridian?

Thanks for the help

type acd

acdn (old fax number)
hit enter to maxp put in 1 at maxp prompt
hit enter to ncfw prompt put in new number at ncfw prompt
hit enter until no more prompts.
all done
(make sure you delete any other appearances of old number before you do the new acd.

Nortellian - you're wonderful! Thanks sooooo much

Problem - when the old fax number is dialed, the attendant comes on with a message "you have been forwarded to a voicemail system; however, the person at 7670 (old fax extension) does not subscribe." How do I bypass this?

Thanks

at the ncfw prompt you put in the new fax number?
if so do you use phantom tn's?

Yes, we use phantom TN's and the one I want to forward to is a phanton for the CallPilot Fax Server....is there a way to fix this?

Thanks for your help.

Also should have added, the old TN is not phantom...if this helps?

well if the acd doesn't work than out it and build a phantom tn to forward to your new fax number.
build a new phantom tn at the dn prompt put old number and at the ftr prompt put dcfw (new fax number). If for some reason it doesn't like dcfw try cfw. If anyone else has any ideas please jump in.

I can't remember exactly how the fax services are set up in Call Pilot, but isn't there a field in the configuration of each account that lets you specify alternate DN's for services? i.e. in the account for the new fax number, you could add the old fax number DN. I know it's possible to be done with mailboxes, not sure if it can be with fax.
