We installed a BCM200 to replace an aging Option 11 for a very picky customer. They have a number of manager/admin asst scenarios, with Answer DNs for the mgr set to appr & ring on the admin assistant's extension. The problem is that the admin assistants want to be able to Forward to Voicemail when they are out of the office, but their managers calls then go to thier mbox. Apparently they could do this on the Option 11, and they are frustrated enough to want to remove the BCM if we can't find a work around.

Anyone have any suggestions? The managers all have DID's, so I'm thinking maybe having the DID answered by a hunt group with the MGR/ADMIN both as members, but I'm not sure how the Forward to Voicemail would impact that. If the manager forwards to voicemail, will it still ring on the assistants phone and vice versa?

All CFNA features are ignored on an incoming hunt group call. One way to possibly work around this would be assign the managers target line (ex, 241) to ring on the managers set. You could then also assign line 241 to a hunt group which either rings or appears and rings on the assistants set. After 4 rings, the call would go to the managers voicemail. Make sure that the hunt groups timeout value is greater than the time it takes a call to go to voicemail (for some reason they set the overflow timeout to seconds instead of ring cycles).

I don't think that hard forwarding the set to mail would cause the managers calls to go to the assistants mailboxes in this scenario. I don't recall ever trying a hard forward in this scenario though.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll give it a try. Sounds like it might be just the solution we need. Now if I can only get the BCM to do conference calls with 6 participants, the customer would love me! Can't win them all.

Hey Biv, Thanks again. It worked like a charm and the customer is very happy. I appreciate the suggestion.
