I have an old legend with Merlin Mail. I would like to have the following senario.

Calls ring to the oprator ext. 10 for 4 rings.
If it is not answered the AA answers the call
The caller selects the ext.
If the call is not answered at the ext after 3 or 4 rings, the call goes to the users mailbox.

When the operator goes to lunch, she presses a button for the AA to answer immediately.

At night the receptionist presses night button for call to get answered by the AA immediately.

This is how I have it setup now.

Calls ring to operator set 10, if see does not answer in 4 ring the AA answers.

It plays the appropriate greeting by time of day and the caller selects the party they would like to reach by pressing 1-5.

If the person they select does not answer, it takes 10 rings before the caller gets the mailbox. (Rings 4 or 5 times at the set but also ring 4 or 5 time before the vm box answers.)

I have the the voicemail port assignments set to delay answer for for AA 770 ports 1,2,3 and immediate answer for ports 4,5,6 771
pool 70 with line 801,802,803,and 804 is assigned to 770.

I've read in another post, thread 689-595928 about setting up the night service function using a different call group, 791 , but I go lost when it came time to program a time delay. I'm not sure if this release of software is before call timers.

Help

Thanks,
Mike

Let me see if I can help you.

Assign your lines to a calling group other than 770
make that group int vm.
have that group overflow to 770 on 3 or 4 rings.
for the night service, it sounds like you have that already setup. just change the vm to immediate instead of delayed.

call will ring in on the console and the calling group will count the rings off, if the console does not answer the call will be answered by AA. when the caller goes to vm they will only ring 3 or 4 times and then go to vm.

I assigned the lines to 791
I changed the group type to Integ VMI for 791
I have 770 as the overflow
Under overflow I enter 791, entered 770 as the overflow group number or QCC LDN
under assigned number of calls I changed it to 99
then it returns me to the group calling options.
