I have two sites that are connect via a PRI circuit. A user is working on a project at site1 and is using an already established phone there. He wants calls that come to the phone at site1, to roll to his permanent phone which is at site2, and go to VM. Do I need to set up a distant steering code to forward the phone to site2? Thanks in advance for any and all assistance.

How is the point to point set up as in your switch? TIE trunk? If so, I belive the short answer is yes.

If you have one vmail system for both sites, you should be able to transfer the call from site 1 to site 2, if the phone at site 2 does not answer it should go back to vmail at site 1. Only problem is that you will be using 3 trunks for each call.

First leg : LEC Trunk Coming in to ext 1234
Second leg : transfer over to TIE to ext 5678
Third leg : transfer back to vmail acdn 9876 to mailbox 1234

If PRI is being used, the vmail should be able to recognize the originating DNIS and send the call to the correct mailbox.

CDP's would have to be in place.
