Hi All.

This is a silly question, but figured ask the question to make sure I haven't missed anything... even though I have done it 100 times. The customer has an IP Office Unit, R 9.1.4 (and yes I have been telling them to update...)

And I've gone through a number of threads that seem to prove out what I am doing...

So:

A customer wants a call that comes into a site to go to their cell phone.

1) Made sure that inhibit off switch transfer is unchecked under system.
2) Directed the call to a specific user
3) Unconditionally call forwarded both internal / hunt group calls to a cell phone number (i.e. 9-1-XXX-XXX-XXXX)
4) verified that the trunks are all "allowed trunk to trunk transfer" enabled.

Yet when I call in on the ICR for voice, the the call never transfers. What am I missing? It must be something simple. But I can't see it.

Regards

I would check the user rights/forwarding of the user.
The system may allow but the user right will override on a per user basis.

Are you forwarding an already in use extension or did you create a phantom user for this? If it is a phantom user did you create an H323 extension?

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.

Travis: I will check and advise. I only have access through the customer computer. (They are a health provider and have a strict access policy)

critchey: This is a real user. They have an existing 14xx series hardphone.

Regards

If it is an already in use extension the only thing that makes sense is what Travis Harper already suggested check the user's settings for inhibit offswitch.

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.

Thanks critchey.

I have, as stated earlier already checked in the usual places where I mess up (grin).
But I have NOT looked at user rights. My access person was away this afternoon, so I will be checking that tomorrow when she calls and I can get into the system and advise.

Thanks everyone for all the help so far.

Regards

Just curious why you are trying to use Unconditional Fwd instead of Twinning?

I to would use twinning in prefrence to Forwarding, but either should be working fine

Time to break out system monitor & trace the call thoroughly

Start with calling the exxtn direct internaly first to illiminate user setup issues

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

IP Guru.

You have no idea how many times I told the customer, to do that.

1) In a normal condition, call the extension. HAVE SOMEONE THERE TO PICK IT UP.
2) Forward internal. HAVE SOMEONE THERE TO PICK IT UP.
3) Forward to a local external number. HAVE SOMEONE THERE TO PICK IT UP.
4) Forward to a local long distance number. HAVE SOMEONE THERE TO PICK IT UP.

It must be said, however, that the lady is very obliging with her time, but I also realize that she has her "real job" to do.

I keep telling her I can make up a ticket and send a tech (but time and charges would apply as their maintenance contract has expired. And I server all of my customers, even the expired ones, to my best. In the days of competition, keep your customer happy, keep the customer!). But they don't have anyone in the office the week they need this done for access.

Sigh.

Hi All.

I wasn't able to get in touch with the site contact, but being a curious soul I did both methods of forwarding on my work test system.

Both worked flawlessly. The only thing I really had to do was on the incoming lines, change LOOP START with ICLID so that the rings would be shorter.

I saved my configs to be on the safe side, but at least I know it isn't my thinking that is scr3wed.

Regards

azrael2000, you did check to see what user rights group the user belongs too, and did you confirm that the user rights group is allowed to forward calls?

In my experience, medical offices are pretty strict on the user rights groups.

Travis

Stupid question but you wouldn't happen to have the box next to System - Telephony - Unsupervised Analog Trunk Disconnect Handling checked would you? Because this would prevent external transfers from happening.
