pls help. customer is asking if incoming calls could be answered by one extension then after 4 rings call will forwarded to another extension then after another 4 rings the call will be forwarded to the auto-attendant. forwarding to the extension is working but when it gets to the auto-attendant on the call pilot, i'm not getting there instead i get the general mailbox where incoming callers would leave a message. don't know if this is really possible cause i'm thinking how would the call pilot know if it will play the auto attendant or general mailbox.

Perhaps by using hunt groups and the overflow DN.
Overflowing Hunt group DN to Hunt group DN and putting different members into each hunt group.

The biggest problem you have is that there is no per-say extension to point to for AA ( i might be wrong, this worked on BCM 2.0 but I havent heard of success on newer systems)

I would make a hunt group, with overflow, and 15 sec que.
Put one user in huntgroup1, the next user in huntgroup 2
Have the two Huntgroups overflow to eachother. The 15 seconds equates to 3 rings between bouncing the two phones.

Then go to Callpilot and configure the AA to pickup after 6 or 8 rings on the line itself.

Gluck

Try playing with a DRT to prime vmail DN on your trunks or telling the AA to answer after 5 to 6 rings.

I've set up AA with a small CCR transferring to the Huntgroup DN as a way to handle this. I think this can be done without using CCR trees by going into ringroups and specifying the huntgroup DN there, but I've never tried it that way.
