Forward on analogue phones?

We use a Meridian 61C.

I have a fax machine that is faulty and I need to forward the extension to another. I presume there is a key sequence I can use on an analogue handset to divert the line. Can anyone tell me what it is, and how to remove it afterwards?

you can fwd the extn by doing #1 then new extn number
e.g moving extn 1234 to 5678....at extn enter #1 5678

You can also forward the external number to another number in LD 49.
