Hi Folks,

I have a question regarding .forward. For some reason, when I change "user"'s home from "/home/user" to "/u01/newdir" and create a .forward there, my mail is not being forwarded. When I change it back to "/home/user" it works again. Change it back AGAIN to "/u01/newdir" and no forwarding...

The funny part is that it works fine on all my other servers. (??)

Same OS version and ML...

Any ideas?

Thanks,

-pd

Are the ownership and permissions of the two .forward files the same?

Yes bi,

The permissions remain unchanged. The permissions in "/home/user/.forward" are identical to "/u01/newdir/.forward".

Is $HOME changed??

Cheers

Yes Morsing,

$HOME is "/u01/newdir". I made sure by changing with SMIT.

Again, what makes this baffling is that I have other users that had this set up about 2 years ago, and it is working fine. We upgraded our Oracle version to 9i, and the new user I created isn't having it's email forwarded...

Very strange...

What about the permissions and ownership on the /u01/newdir and /home/user directories?
