Is it possible in IPO to forward the incoming Caller ID when an incoming call gets forwarded using forward unconditional, on no answer, or mobile twinning?

I know how to do this in Manager using an autoattendant and having the source be $CLI but I don't know how to set it up globally for forwarding or for individual users when they have forwarding turned on.

I'm looking to do this because when a call is forwarded it shows on caller ID as coming from the user receiving the call because it's being forwareded from their handset.

hopefully you are not trying that with analog lines

look in the system - twinning tab and forwarding is a no go but twinning (mobility) works

Give a tech a solution and he will be back tomorrow to ask you the next question, teach a tech how to read the manual and he will be able to solve the problems for a life time.

No this would be on an IP handset. We have a few analog lines but most are connected to fax machines and do not have forwarding enabled.

Westi is talking about analog trunks (not extensions). You cannot mobile twin with analog trunks. You need a PRI, SIP, T1, Etc.

some provider require a waiver before doing this, you have to sign that you are not a boiler room operation and that you will not misuse this feature.

So I guess this information raises a few more questions.

GOAL: If possible, is to get Caller ID of the incoming call to show up when the call is fowarded to another number either through Unconditional forwarding of the handset or mobile twinning etc.

1) Can you explain more the issue with the analog trunks? I think we have one PRI connected to our IPO system with two control units and 7 total moduels (1 of which is analogue) I don't know that we actually have an analogue trunk. Conrtol Unit 1 and 2 are connected over SCN which I think uses SIP.

2) Would I uncheck the box under system > Twinning > Send original calling party info for mobile twinning (and then add $CLI for calling pary info)? (Is it possible to do this for only a single user or for fowarding?)

3) Do I just need to check with AT&T to see if they require a waiver even though I have the option available in IPO? (What is a "boiler room opetation" I'm not familiar with that...scratch that googling it now)

you have to check with the provider, I dealt with Verizon for 2 months before talking to someone who what was needed. The customer signed the papers and faxed them back then it started working. Boiler room operation is the cold calling companies that hide behind fake callerID back in the day to annoy people into buying things or collect money while remaining anonymous.
All I have needed to do was to check the box in the system tab.
Analog trunks will not send the info must be PRI, SIP or T1
Must be twinning not call forwarding

Okay I found out a lot of great info to share. * to Westi and Teletechman for all the great info.

1) Like everyone said above it does not work with forwarding so you need to have twinning enabled, but you can set this up to function just like forwarding so there's no difference.

2) All you have to do (if it's enable for your system like the guys above have helped me with) is Check the box for
"Send original calling party info for mobile twinning"

3) There are a lot of options here, If you set the user's "no answer" time to be greater than their cell phone voicemail you can have unanswered calls go there. You can also set the "no answer" time to less than the user's cell phone VM pickup time and it will pull the call back and go to the IPO VM. Either way as long as the box is checked from (2) it will show the Caller ID.

Thanks for the info guys.
