my boss wants all his calls to be forwarded to his assistant. he wants his assistant to see the caller's id pop up in phone manager so that the calls can be screened.
1) Set the bosses forward unconditional to the secretaries extension number.
Add the secretaries extension numbers to the bosses DND Exceptions list (Even though we're not using DND adding this allows the secretary to transfer forwarded calls back to the forwarder).
2) Leave things as they are but turn the bosses ringer off. Set the bosses Call Coverage time to something v.low like 5 seconds.
Give the secretary a call coverage button set to the boss.
The boss then has a can answer if they want or leave it to the secretary.
3) As (2) above but use paired call appearance and bridged appearance buttons.
4) Alternatively just publish the secretarys numbers as being the bosses and set the bosses real number as ex-directory (and shout at any staff who ring the boss direct).
Are they talking about the screening on incoming external calls on a particular DDI, ie. do they mind if internal people ring/transfer calls to them directly.
The answer would affect whether the time profile works at the incoming call route level or on hunt groups.
The hunt groups is a lot of extra programming. The ICR option is the neatest.
SC = anynumber
TN = hardware ID of the boss phone
Line ID = 0
Funtion = DialPhysicalExtensionByID
Point a incoming call route to the shortcode and the boss can be called without the assistant, the extension will always ring reardless of the settings of the user ( Divert,DND etc.)
