Hello all,

I receive an e-mail for x-user. When I forward the mail and edit the body fo the text I get my name in brackets and the the text I want to edit.

This only happens when I receive e-mail from people that have outlook 2003 - when I receive e-mail from other outlook 2000 users and adjust the content I do not get my name in brackets.

I have looked in the options menu but can not find anything at all - I think it has to do with smart tags or something - but I am not sure.

Does anybody has the same problem ? and if so how did they solved this issue

The initials are only added when you are using Word as your email editor and the options are turned on in Outlook. The email received must also be in HTML. Word 2000 send emails in HTML or plain text, so the function doesn't work. What I suggest is that you reply (RTF emails) using a different colour font to help highlight your additions.

Of course, if their emails are in plain text, don't bother as they won't see anything other than plain text.

Regards: tf1
