Hi,

I think this is a simple one, but even though I've done this before I can't find the answer today.

I've got a L500 type analogue extension which is a fax & I need to forward it to another internal extension.

The TN is as follows -

REQ PRT
TYPE: tn
TYPE TNB

I thought I just did added a FTW FDN 3255 to forward it to x3255 but that didn't work.
Also currently the fax just gives an engaged tone when rung, hence the need to divert it. Can you see anything that would be causing this?

So, just to be clear, 3407 isn't a fax line at all. But a phantom pointed to a real fax. But the print out of 3407 doesn't show what you are wanting to accomplish. You would need to add FNA and HTA the under FTR do a DCFW 4 XXXX

All our numbers work externally with a prefix added, in this case 30xxxx. External fax calls to 303407 come into the phantom DN & currently divert to x3255 which is an analogue fax.

What we want ideally is to make 3407 a real fax rather than the two departments sharing a fax.

Then just remove 3407 as a phantom and built it as an analog set on an unused TN, that's it

What we want ideally is to make 3407 a real fax rather than the two departments sharing a fax.

1. First located the fax that you want to setup with 3407, ID the jack it's plugged into and write it down, you'll need this for later
2. Now delete the phantom so you can use DN 3407.
3. Find an open analog TN - LD 20, REQ = LUVU, TYPE = 500, pick any TN that doesn't say phantom.
4. Print the TN of a known working fax machine.
5. Copy TN of known working fax machine and when it ask for TN, input the TN from step 3 and when it ask for DN, input 3407
6. xconnect jack to TN you just created.
7 Have a beer and congrats yourself for a job well done ;)

Thanks for those idiot level instructions, just what I needed having never done this before :)

I'll get a time arranged with the department & try it.

Just to update this.

I went out to that site to work out the physical patching & did the job...

It worked!

Thanks for all the help :)
