i want to add a forum to the above site, the site is in a tempoary position at the moment but im moving it to its veyr own domain this weekend which supports CGI, etc etc.

The kind of forum i want to set up is where i can have catergories and people can post below those categories.

anyone point us in the right direction to where i can find the code to add ?

depends on what server side code your server runs, but you could always try Google for "forum scripts"

PHPBB is free and a very powerful forum program

you could also go to hotscripts.com or scriptsearch.com or some place like that, that has several catagories of server side languages and in each catagory there are links to mostly free forums,chat scripts, shoutboxes etc. they all will offer a .zip with all the code and they mostly are all pretty easy to customize.
