Forums Script

Hey all,

I am changing job soon, and i have been looking on the net to try and find a forum which people in this role can have a chat (management information analyst) as i suspect there are many people in/near this role.

I couldnt find one so i thought i would create my own. Does anyone know of a script to run a similar style forum to tek-tips?? All the ones i have found seem pritty bad with all the forums listed on the front page!

Tek tips offer a "Start a Group" link at the bottom of every page. Using this you could set up your own TT forum and not have to deal with any of the admin/legal issues in setting up your own solution.

Just a suggestion.

PHPBB is one of the most widely used forums on the net, and it's a free download:

If you're looking for something more individual you're better off designing your own. Do you know any server side languages? I'm currently working my way through 'PHP and MySQL Web Development' by Welling and Thompson and it's got a 30 page section devoted to building web forums. Haven't got that far yet but it looks pretty cool.
