I've been trying for several days to install forte4j (Sun'S JAVA IDE) on suse 7.0. I've unpacked the rpm files and installed them. When I tried to run the program I got a message saying that my jdk couldn#t be found and asking me to change my java path variable. I did this (as Sun's web page told me to do) using export JAVA_PATH=/usr/lib/jdk1.1.8 (my jdk) and then tried to start forte with "forte4j". If I'm logged on as root, I get a prompt asking me if i want to save my development files to a shared directory, if I ok this I then get the messaage "-Xmx96m: illegal arguement".
