Hi,

I'm sure there is a very simple answer to this.

I'm trying to write a formula in a merged cell that references another merged cell but it always seems to leave it as a text entry not a formula,

e.g.

='Contract'!$A$1

Rather than working as a fromula it just displays what I typed as the formula.

Now I can get this working if I copy and paste link the cell but then as soon as I change it because I want to amend the formula it reverts to it's text-type format.

Thanks

Duncan

Have you tried formatting the cell as general?

and then entering the formula !! - won't have any effect if you chnage the format AFTER the formula is entered
