Hello, i am new at this so i need some input, please. i am writing a report where there is a are 2 credentials, one has an end date, the 2nd one does not. so, what i want to do is to be able to link the credential to the date of service.
example-
credential NA has an end date of 9/30/2010
credential CPC does not have an end date
date of service 8/10/2010 should link to NA
date of service 11/3/2010 should link to CPC
I have tried everything i could think of and still am not able to get the results desired.

Hi,
In order to link 2 tables there must be a field that has the same data in both tables, even though the field names can differ( same datatype however).

It is not clear from your post if there is any other common element between NA and CPC.

Not really sure what you mean by this:

date of service 8/10/2010 should link to NA
date of service 11/3/2010 should link to CPC

It would be simpler to link your dates to the appropriate credential 'range' if both ends of the range were in each record - in other words if each credential record had both a start date and and end date. If you only have the end date then you have to derive the start date from the end date of the previous record which makes for some pretty sophisticated SQL.
