Hi,
We use Lotus 6.5. A group of people use several diferent databases. They replicate them with using `Documents By Selection Formula` to their local otherwise they get lots of informations whih they are not interested . But the problem is when there is an update i have to put the entries all the computers manually and it takes quite long times. Is there a way to create a text file and put the selection query in it and then make lotus notes to read selection from that file.
If i can do this i woould put the file somewhere at the network and it would be realy easier.

Thanks for any help

No text file, but you should be able to specify a Replication Formula on each local copy.
Local Replication Formulas are useful, but need to be thought out thoroughly and tested before generalizing. Luckily, the worst that can happen is that you will have to delete the local replica and re-create it, so no data can be lost (only time).

Hi Pascal
Actually that is what i do. I use Replication formulas on each local but there are about 15 people and they are not at the office all the time. So i need to find another way to update their formulas.

Ah, that's a tricky issue.
There is nothing in Notes that can help here, at least not that I know of. It would be nice to be able to send an email update, but that would imply being able to modify the Replication formula by code, and that does not seem to be possible.
Did you check the Sandbox on the IBM site ? Maybe there is a 3rd-party app that can help you ?
