I have a formula in a report and even though I have removed it from everywhere in the design view, it is still marked with a check box that it is used in the report.

I can not delete this formula as Crystal thinks it is used somewhere.

This has happened a few times before and I have rebuilt reports to remove these.

Any tips/tricks to find where crystal is using this?

Check to see if it is being used as a sort field, referenced within other formulas or running totals, or in the record or group selection formulas. Also check to see if it is referenced in field or section conditional formatting areas.

You can export the report to report definition and also see if it is identified there.

You can also open formula and change data type, ie if existing formula results in a string, change it to result in a number. you can do this by simply deleting existing text and placing a number field in formula on its own.

Run report and when formula is encountered it will stop and indicate where error occurs.

Another possibility is that it is a link for a subreport.
