I have a datetime field in the following format:

DD/MM/YYYY HH:MM:SS

and I simply want to state it as :

Full month name YEAR

ie February 2001

any ideas? Thanks

You can format any date field to appear this way - right click and pick format|date from the date format menu.
The drop down list for day formats includes 1, 01, and a blank field or the word None, depending on your version. Choose None, then tweak the other options till the sample looks like what you want. Malcolm

Kevinski: Another alternative would be to use the TOTEXT() function as follows:

totext({datetime},"MMMM, yyyy")

where the mask "MMMM" creates the full name of the month and "yyyy" gives you a 4 digit year David C. Monks
