Formula limitation in Crystal Reports Explorer 10.5 1

Through troubleshooting and testing, we believe we have found a limitation of formulas in Crystal Reports Explorer 10.5. We can't get a formula to work if it exceeds over 3,000 characters (we can't nail down the actual limit, but it is between 3,000 and 3,100).

Can anyone confirm this? Or, has anyone found a workaround or solution?

Your help is greatly appreciated!
