formula field not displaying data

Hi,
I have a formula in its own group which acts as a summary for the group, it works except in one report where it works for the first group but does not display any data for the last group. If I browse the field then I see the value that should be in the field but for some reason is not being displayed.

Has anyone seen this before?

I could be more helpful if you showed the actual formula.
However, since it is a summary field, I imagine that there is something going on that prevents the field from being shown.

1) Is it in a section with a condition to suppress?
2) Does the summary depend on a sub-section?

Thanks Howard,

I've just got it, a field which the formula depended on was blank since two other fields were blank (and so on ad infinitum) which meant the result was blank, obvious when you haven't been sitting at the same report for the last few weeks!
