Formula error message

What does it mean when the formula check returns the message "This formula cannot be used because it must be evaluated later"? I'm new at this -- any ideas will be appreciated!
 
It means that you're attempting to use an aggregate function in an inappropriate place.

Try posting specifics if you need more help, and some environment information never hurts.
