I have a form with a subform. I've had to make a copy of both and use all 4 because I have 2 different tables that get's used on the subform depending on the type of data we use and there are some fields that are in 1 table that are not in the other. Is there a way to make both tables work with the subform so that the txt field and label names of the subform will change depending on the table I select?

Do you need the data to be editable? If not, consider using a union query. If you need to edit the data you could change the record sources of the forms as well as the control sources of controls. This sounds like a lot of work.

I typically question having tables with similar structures but will assume you understand your requirements better than I do ;-)

It does sound like a lot of work. the tables are standardized as much as possible..just some tables have more fields than others. On another topic for same app. I have linked tables (from sql server) and the linked alias name is not the same as the sql table name. how do i get the sql table name of a linked table ?
