Forms Too Small To Read When Viewing Using RDP From Surface Pro

When running the .Net Windows Forms App using RDP on a Surface Pro the forms are too small to read easily. I have read that installing the Micro Soft Remote Desktop Connection Manager 2.2 on the Surface Pro will help solve the problem by allowing you to specify the resolution. Does anybody have any experience with this? Or other possible solutions?

I've never used it, but I have heard that the Remote Desktop Connection Manager will make the resolution smaller and easier to read.
