Howdy folks,

I'm currently developing an online survey and I came across a question that has bothered me in the past as well, so I thought I'd finally look for an answer.

Does anyone know of an easy way, on a survey, to have users "rank" certain values? For example, I want users to look at 5 different attributes for a web site, and rank them from 1-5, but I want each value to be used only once. (In other words, users can't choose 5 for all 5 options like they might if the survey were a typical "Satisfied-dissatisfied" type).

I'm essentially trying to determine the relative importance of the different values to the end-users.

Let me know what you think!

Use radio buttons, give each a different value and pass the value - obviously, give them all the same "name".

Only one radio button can be checked at a time, unlike checkboxes, which can have several ticked at once. Steve Davis
