FORMS IN EXCEL XP

CAN SOMEONE HELP ME CREATE A FORM IN EXCEL XP. I HAVE A SPREADSHEET THAT HAS A TEAM NAME, DEPOSIT AMOUNT (10 DIFFERENT COLUMNS FOR INDIVIDUAL DEPOSITS), DEPOSIT DATE (10 COLUMNS TO MATCH UP WITH THE DEPOSITS), DEPOSITED TO (10 COLUMNS TO MATCH WITH DEPOSITS, DEPOSIT DATE),REG FEE (1 COLUMN), BEGINNING BALANCE(1 COLUMN) AND ENDING BALANCE(1 COLUMN). I WOULD LIKE TO CREATE A FORM THAT ALLOWS THE USER TO SELECT THE TEAM NAMES FROM A LIST RATHER THAN TYPING IT IN EVERYTIME. ALSO IN THIS FORM IT WOULD HAVE DEPOSIT AMOUNT, DEPOSIT DATE, DEPOSITED TO, AND OVERALL TOTAL(I WOULD LIKE IT TO CALCULATE HOW MUCH THE TEAM HAS ENTERED TO DATE WITH THE DEPOSIT THAT WAS JUST ENETERED). I WOULD ALSO LIKE FOR THIS FORM TO ENTER THIS INFORMATION IN THE SPREADSHEETS IN THE PROPER PLACE. THAT WAY I WOULDN'T HAVE TO LABEL THE DEPOSITS (1,2,3,4,ETC) THE DATE WOULD INDICATE THE SEQUENCE.

PLEASE HELP ME IF POSSIBLE. THANKS SO MUCH. I'VE BEEN TRYING FOR 3 WEEKS ON AND OFF TO GET THIS TO WORK BUT I CAN'T EVEN GET A FORM STARTED

It seems to me that what you are attempting to do could be done much more easily in MS Access. In Access, it actually would be very simple. In Excel, it could take a while and I'm not sure you would ever be happy with the result.

Thanks swtrader. I wanted it in Access too(actually I already have most of it imported) but the person I am creating this for is dead set on it being in Excel even though I have stressed to her how much easier it would be in Access. Thanks again for taking time to respond.

Hey Santee,

This can be done in excel but it'll require a little vb coding to make it function smoothly.

I'll try and see what I can create in the time I have today.

I can email to you once I get it working.

Another approach might be Pivot Tables. Any time I see multiple columns for the same type of information, somehow it raises a red flag. I would consider single columns for team name, deposit date, deposit to (I assume a bank name here), and deposit amount. You can summarize this data in a pivot table using grouping and subgrouping.

Keep in mind that you can "add on" to pivot tables with additonal columns for additional computations. I have a pivot table that produces just two columns of summarized data, yet I have added five more columns that summarize those two columns. Also, if the registration fee is static data, you might want to consider addressing it separately.
