IS-IT--Management
We are running SCO Openserver 5.0.7 and are attempting to set up forms so that we get better manage the production of the thousands of invoices and statements we produce each month.
I have created a form called NMSTD and have tried to make this available to our printer "printer1" which is set up as a "proprinter" using the following command:
"# /usr/lib/lpadmin -p printer1 -f allow:NMSTD
UX:lpadmin: INFO: "cpi" setting impossible.
UX:lpadmin: INFO: "lpi" setting impossible.
UX:lpadmin: INFO: "length" setting impossible.
UX:lpadmin: INFO: The form "NMSTD" requires capabilities
not provided by the printer type "unknown".
UX:lpadmin: ERROR: Can't allow one or more forms.
TO FIX: You have to adjust each form definition,
if possible. Leave each form out of the
allow list to continue defining the
printer."
However as can be seen there appears to be an issue which stems from the fact that the printer type is seen as "unknown". I am assuming this is why lpadmin cannot determine the capabilities of the printer and therefore is unable to match these to the requirements of the form.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this ?
