if i create a simple form for people to give info and the info is mailed to me dreamweaver says i need to enetr a cgi process or command. where do i get this cgi script and if my server says they support cgi will it be in there can i just start uploading? i dont know anything about cgi scripting

Do a search for free cgi or perl scripts on google.com. You will have to download them to your harddrive locally....most likely edit the 1st line of the script according to the addressing of scripts on your server and upload to your server. You will also need to be able to set the chmod which is simply file permissions. This can be accomplished very easily with a ftp program such as WS_FTP or something similar.

It is a little tricky if you have never done this before...don't let anyone tell you different. I recommend doing a little research online if you can. Some scripts do come with step by step instructions which will get you on your way pretty good.

Good Luck!!! Ya' Gotta Love It!
