I have a cross tab that will show values based on what is put into the db. I need to format only three of these values:

eg: if value = ht then show "ht(cm)" - problem is, it only grabs the last value when I write

if value = "ht" then "ht(cm)";
if value = "wt" then "wt(kg)" else value

will only show my last if.....I need all switchs to show + the others as is...

Try replacing the semicolon with "else" as in:

if value = "ht" then "ht(cm)" else
if value = "wt" then "wt(kg)" else value
