How can I format my title in Impromptu to show upper case for the beginning of each word? The data is in the database in all uppercase. My format right now is "Aa*" but that only gives me an uppercase on the first word. All remaining words are lower case (I assume because of the "*"). What is the correct format to use?

Thanks,
Kristina

When you take the catalog column into your report, instead of just taking the column across, create a calculated column and use the initcap() function on the data item.

Hi JGirl,

Thank you for the reply. I looked for the initcap() function but it is not listed. What version of Impromptu do you have? We are running 7.1.339.0.

Thanks,
K~

OK, depending on what database you use, you may be able to add the function to one of your .ini files.

In your X:\Program Files\Cognos\cerx\bin\ directory, there are a whole stack of *.ini files for each of the database types (eg. oracle, odbc, informix etc), and its in these DB specific files where you can add the initcap function IF it is supported by your database.
