I am merging from a dbf file. In my form letter it lists costs, tax, total . Each is a numeric field 10 char long with 2 decimal places. I want the data to line up with the decimal point. I've tried the \# ###,##0.00 switch after the merge field and \# ######.##, but still the decimal point position doesn't match up.

Hi Andy,

I use a table (maybe a single row table) for printing data like this in the document and set the appropriate column formatting to Align Right. The formatting you have indicated does not align the data, only format it. Also I successfully use the first of your formats to ensure two decimals are always printed - I think the second format may not do this for an integer - not sure though.

Good Luck!
