Okay I am fed up with my PC at home. PC is running extremely slow and it appears I have many viruses. Found this out by installing Norton System Works. Seems the one causing the most problems is the backdoor.trojan virus, which I am having trouble removing. That is just the start though, I also have problems with the internet, seems some spyware is installed and it will not let me change my homepage. Because of this and numerous other problems I have decided to start over. What I want to do is erase everything and reinstall XP. Also, my plan is that if I can get this to happen I am installing Norton Firewall first along with System Works before I install any other programs. So what I really need is detailed instruction on how to format the hardrive and reinstall XP. I know I need to save all of the data files, pictures and stuff to a CD prior, its just the other items I am a little worried about. Also, I have another PC at home that I want to install XP on as well, it is currently running 98. I plan on using the 98 as my test before proceeding on the my PC that I use most often. Will XP allow this, to be installed on two different machines? Anyway, if anyone has any suggestions or links that would be help it would be appreciated.
