Bit of a strange one and if anyone can help it will save me a lot of time...

I'm trying to put together a document in docx format (doc 2) which involves copy paragraphs from another docx (doc 1) to this one.

When I do though the formatting gets messed up. Here's what the settings are for both Doc 1 and Doc 2:

Font: Calibri, Size: 10pt, RGB Colour: 0,0,0 (Black), Spacing: 0pt, Keep Lines Together is not ticked.

But when I paste from 1 to 2 I suddenly get:

Font: Calibri, Size: 12pt, RGB Colour: 36,63,96 (Blue), Spacing: 10pt, Keep Lines Together is ticked.

How can this be possible and how can I fix this - I have hundreds of these paragraphs to copy and I don't have time to sort the formatting out each time I paste one in.

Ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks

This trick has worked for other versions in the past, so it might work for 2007 etc.

In Doc1 go to the very end of the doc. To be sure press right arrow key a few times. Press backspace until the last character of Doc1 disappears. Retype it, press enter if you need to and the paste Doc 2.

Sir you are a genius!

Many thanks indeed!

Any ideas what the cause was?

The last non-visible "character" in the document contains extraneous formatting information. Or, so I have been told.
