Formatting details main report with a subreport

Here is what I am trying to do. I have a main report that contains a subreport. I want bolded left and right sides of the a table but part if it resides in the main report and there is also a sub part but when there is more than one record in the sub part the edges of the table are missing for all the additional records so the bolded perimeter of the table is loss. I tried coding it in the Detail to make the lines I drew as the edges of the table grow but I haven't had any luck.
