I'd like my Word macro to pass through a whole Word document and to format content under all headings (level 2) into two columns. Each heading 2 content should become a section formatted into two columns. So content under heading 2 could be followed by next heading 2 or heading 1 (heading + content). It should be formatted in two columns regardless of which heading follows.

Hi sbrbot,

So what code have you got so far and which parts do you need help with?

Cheers

Agreed. This is possible, but not trivial, and we are not going to just work it out for you. What have you got? What have you tried?

You will definitely need to work out exactly what it is you are going to do. For example, you state:

" Each heading 2 content should become a section formatted into two columns."

Do you really mean "section" as in the way Word views "section"? That is a document structure view. Section can also mean, in many people's mind, a content structure view. These are quite different.

Further, I would assume you actually mean the content after the heading 2 text/content will become columns. But...is that correct? I mean:

Heading text Yadda yadda (one column)

(TWO column)
text now as column text now as column
text now as column text now as column
text now as column text now as column
text now as column text now as column
text now as column text now as column
text now as column text now as column

Next Heading text (one column)

(TWO column)
text now as column text now as column
text now as column text now as column
text now as column text now as column
text now as column text now as column
text now as column text now as column
text now as column text now as column
