My Excel files has a column of postal codes entered as "A9A9A9" (text type). I would like to re-format the whole column as "A9A 9A9" to show the usual format of Canadian postal codes.

Is this possible in Excel?

If your column of postal codes is in column A, enter the
following formula in column B:
=MID(A1, 1, 3) & " " & MID(A1, 4, 3)

As an enhancement, you could add the UPPER function to automagically ensure the postal code is upper case. The function then looks like =UPPER(MID(a1,1,3) & " " & MID(a1,4,3)). Doug Frith
