Formatting a Make Table query field

Formatting a Make Table query field. I have 2 similar queries that are calculating a percentage column. Both are make table queries. After the make table query is created, the formatting of the percentage column is different for both.

Request: I want to have a percent format with 6 decimals places for the percentage column. I tried changing the formatting in the make table but everytime I execute the make table query, the formatting is overridden.

Create your table with the desired formatting and then use delete+append queries instead of maketable query.

I'd prefer to have one step in creating a new table. Can the delete and append queries be in one step other than using a macro?
