Hi

I have installed w2k on a new HD and I want to use my older one as a second drive. The older drive originally was my only drive this is where w2k used to be.

When I attempt to boot my system with the second drive attached I get an error message after POST..."NTLDR is missing" press ctrl+alt+del to restart. The only way I can get w2k to boot is to disconect the older drive.

How can I get to use my second drive?

How can I reformat this drive to erase all old data so I can have a fresh drive? With w98 I could reboot in msdos mode and use FDISK and then FORMAT a drive ready to be used within w98.

Thanks

Pete

Make sure the new drive is set to "C" If NTldr is on both drives it is probably confused. Go to computer management-storage-disk management to chang the drive letters if necessary and format the old drive. Try hoking it up after booting and refresh if it isn't automaticaly found. I assume you are using fat32 on both drives, if one is fat32 and the other ntfs make both ntfs (you can convert fat 32 to ntfs but not the opposite. Hope this works!
